The Buffer alternative that doesn't ration your posts

Buffer charges per channel. Ten channels on Essentials is $50/month — ours is $10 flat.

The best-known simple scheduler, and the one most creators outgrow first. Below is an honest side-by-side — including the cases where Buffer is the better choice.

Free plans, side by side

When Buffer is the better choice

We would rather you pick the right tool than churn out of ours in a month. These are real reasons to choose Buffer.

  • Buffer has been doing this since 2010, and it shows in the small things: a genuinely good browser extension, a long tail of integrations, and a start-page/link-in-bio product that is more polished than ours.
  • Their engagement inbox for replying to comments across networks is a real product. We do not have one — we schedule and analyse, we do not manage conversations.
  • If you only ever post to three channels and keep fewer than ten posts queued at a time, Buffer's free plan costs nothing and works well. There is no reason to switch.

Where we win

Every line here is checkable against the pricing pages linked above.

  • Five free channels instead of three, and no cap on how many posts you queue.
  • Flat pricing. Buffer bills per channel, so cost grows linearly as you add accounts; our Creator plan is $10 for ten channels.
  • Video-aware scheduling — we check duration, file size and aspect ratio against each platform's rules before a post is queued.

Built for people who post video

Most schedulers, Buffer included, treat a Reel as a file to upload. The difference shows up the first time a post fails at 6am.

It checks your clip before it queues.

Duration, file size and aspect ratio are validated against each platform's rules. A clip that is too long is a blocking error; the wrong aspect ratio is a warning. You find out before the post fails, not after.

One composer, every channel.

Write once, adapt per platform, and queue it all from a single calendar. Analytics come back into the same view — including best-time-to-post, once you have published enough history for it to mean anything.

Your AI agent can draft, but not publish.

Questions people actually ask

Is VideoToReels really free, or is it a trial?

It is a permanent free plan, not a trial. Five channels and unlimited scheduled posts, with no expiry and no card required.

How does Buffer's 10-post limit actually work?

It is a rolling queue cap: you can hold 10 unpublished posts per channel at once. As posts go out, slots free up. Our free plan has no queue cap at all.

Can I import my Buffer queue?

Not automatically today. You can connect the same channels and rebuild your schedule — most people move one channel at a time and run both tools for a week.

What does Buffer do that you do not?

A reply/engagement inbox, a more mature link-in-bio product, and a browser extension. If those matter more than post volume, Buffer is the better tool.
